(1) The smaller of two typically forced bets used in holdem poker games such as Texas holdem poker and Omaha to stimulate the pot. The small blind is paid before cards are dealt, that is why it is called a blind. The small blind equals to half of the low bet and is paid by the poker player sited to the left of the dealer's button. (2) The small blind position, to the left of the dealer's button, which is the least desired one as the small blind always acts first.
